Well hello there! Welcome to Scran on the Tyne!

An award-winning, independent north east food blog.

Thanks for visiting my site. Scran on the Tyne was founded by me, Lauren Archer, in August 2013. The site is primarily run and written by myself, with the occasional guest post from other North East dwelling self-confessed gastronomy obsessives with eyes bigger than their bellies. I’ve collaborated with French Connection, Hungry House and a huge number of food businesses across the region and beyond.

I’m all about celebrating everything food and drink related throughout our wonderful region and provide honest, unique feedback on restaurants, bars, cafés and hotels across the North East. I’m no Jay Rayner, but know a canny plate of food when I eat one (as do my guest writers!) and you’ll find plenty of insightful reviews on this site.

The North East has experienced something of a food revolution, so it is my aim to share with you the best of the burgeoning culinary circuit and help you take full advantage of the foodie treats our region has to offer. From reviews, recipes and stockists, to a guide of the best upcoming food and drink events, Scran on the Tyne has got you covered.

For PRESS enquiries, or if you’re a VENUE hoping to be featured, get in touch by email to HELLO@SCRANONTHETYNE.COM, or contact me on Twitter.
